Aukogsani Gree
Aukogsani Gree
Locals all know that a drive through The Greenstoll is always worth the detour, serving as the home for unlimited nurseries, fruit stands, roasted meat stalls, vintage markets and so much more. What many locals don’t know is that the culture down there is full of representatives from all over the world. Standing spotless behind vibrant bougainvillea bushes and guarded by gilded lions is Strangeland’s Mahayantra All-Faiths temple and gardens. For more than 30 years, Aukogsani Gree has opened its doors to people from all walks of life, urging visitors to connect with monks as if they were in their own home. Originally named The Temple of the Wandering, the Gree houses a stone calendar depicting all the known gods, created to bring peace and joy to all who sit within front of it.

Beyond the elegant, but understated walls of the temple stretches a verdant secret garden and a large meditation pond fed by natural springs.Be sure to light some incense for friends or loved ones who are gone but not forgotten, and share some of the monk-made, unleavened stable bread (slathered with butter and toasted garlic!) before you leave.
