Yolum
Yolum is a Sopti, Language of the Tevlo word that literally translates to searcher or seeker. These priests of Iludrocism serve as the rank-and-file caretakers of Tevlo spirituality. They also serve as judges, though the police are a military, and thus secular, force. When not presiding over cases, yolum spend most of their days gathering data and conducting research to identify truths and improve the technological advantage that the Tevlo nation maintains.
Qualifications
Single school in biggest tevlo city for training yolik, run as scientific research/education center.
Requirements
No older than 20 to enter, as it takes usually around 8 years to finish school to become a yolum.
Benefits
Yolum do not work for pay, but are given a small stipend to cover basic cost of living, though most of the needs are provided for by the local communities.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Upon finishing school and receiving their commission, a permanent choker made of silver strands is woven around the neck of the new yolum and sealed with an intense heat (protective coverings are required, though some fur is often singed and regrows as normal. They are also given a hewash for presiding over court (as well as self-defense in a pinch). The hewash holds no significant value outside of sentimental for the individual yolum.
When in court, the yolum will wear a black robe and will use their hewash to control order and often to add finality to a decision or statement.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The primary charges that can be cause for dismissal are:
Gross negligence or incompetence in completion of duties
Lack of character befitting a yolum
Any severe criminal charge
