Controllers of the main shipyards and heavy industrial production facilities scattered throughout their sector. Nordic in custom and descent, the ruling class is fairly fractious. Various Jarls, typically an inherited position control most of the major fiefs on their planets. Major policies are decided annually via a large moot on Icarus, however rarely is it without incident. Currently it's about a 60/40 split against making more Jarls out of some of the more prominent and wealthy Karls. The Jarls have lately been clamping down on lesser moots that have traditionally been held in conjunction with their main one, viewing them as counterproductive and frivolous, this hasn't gone over well with the populace, as in the past lavish gifts were exchanged and it was most often how intermarrying between the various Karls and their houses would happen, tensions are running high in Oran space as a result.
