Meddenweg (Mee-Den-Wegg)

If Shemuford is the family friendly destination full of artists, acrobats and plays, Meddenweg is the mature destination for the discerning adult. Built on the shore of the northern ocean, it is the last city before entering the northern wasteland. A prominent stop on the axis of two important trading routes, the city was built to accommodate travelers more than settlers.

Once the members of the upper class of the capital city saw the potential Meddenweg offered as far as location and real estate value, a good number decided it was a great place to build a second home. That was the beginning of the Meddenweg that stands today. As usual it came to the industrious circle to institute the most impactful changes. While the servants were overseeing the construction or maintenance, needing to release some tension and have some fun, they decided to open a few small gambling establishments, and invited any visitors or passers by to play cards, dice or tiles. At first the stakes were low but in no time it became clear that traders on the road or sea day on end, have a great desire to let loose.

As more and more people set up residence in Meddenweg, small establishments became larger and more lavish. With the arrival of a new echelon of settlers, means a new echelon of skills. The food reached new heights, the designs became more elaborate and what was a small gathering soon turned into the most lavish celebration.
