This system is a minor world for the sector and is one of the few ocean planets in the sector. The planet Erris, and indeed the entire system is relatively poor in natural resources, however it is rich in water, and so is a common stopover for ships that venture out into these remote parts of the Sector. The planet is home to a large population of Quarren, who emigrated here from Mon Calamari to set up their own society away from the Mon Cal people.
Preferring a somewhat simpler life, they have topped out at an information age level of technology, except for the floating city of Splynn, which is home to the only spaceport on the planet. This city has all the modern refinements and is the only place on the planet not ruled over by a single tribe. Here, the Quarren of Erris work together to provide the tribes a place to trade what they can spare for goods from other planets. The city also distills and exports millions of gallons of fresh water every year. As apparently the planet is made up of only water surrounding a small, rapidly spinning iron core, this resource is basically limitless, especially as small comets from the especially dense oort cloud surrounding the system are almost constantly vaporizing in the atmosphere.
There is a single, standard Tenloss Orbital Customs platform in orbit around the planet. This platform is mainly responsible for policing outgoing transports to ensure that the Quarren stay on the planet, however, recentlly they have been tasked with the additional duty of policing incoming shipments, which has drastically increased their workload.
