This system contains a hidden gem in the form of the inner planet. Sheathed in a searing, poisonous atmosphere, the planet hides a complex, fungal based ecosystem
that has provided a breathable atmosphere to the massive system of subterranean caverns and tunnels. The multitude of spores in this atmosphere requires the use of a breath mask, but this, combined with a generous supply of underground lakes and rivers means that life on this world is possible. The most difficult part of this proposition is finding one’s way from the poisonous exterior to the livable interior. No scout has managed this to date. The livable cavers are located 25-50 kilometers below the surface. The caves are a riot of bio-luminescent life. Most of the tunnels are large enough to fly a light freighter through, while the caverns themselves average about two miles across. The magnetosphere is somewhat weaker than that typically found on a habitable world. That combined with the thickness and stability of the crust indicates that the planet is probably pretty old and well into planetary cooling. The biosphere is made up of fungal life forms and early simple insectoid life, such as flatworms. The nascent Kanzi Sector insurgency has unofficially named this planet and its barely started settlement Haven.
The asteroid belt is largely made up of chondritic asteroids, with only a smattering of nickel/iron and other metallic asteroids.
The Ice planet and its moons are typical of their type.
