Heavy Armor

Worn either by warriors at the vanguard or by those with a severe fear of getting hurt during combat, heavy armors are some of the best defenses one can have during batlle. Able to withstand numerous blaster hits or vibro strikes, these outfits were designed to keep the people inside alive no matter what is thrown at them. This is a compiled list of all types of heavy armor that have been encountered on your journeys:

Faction

Often used by elite guard of factions, no expense is spared when it comes to protecting secure facilities or prominent individuals. If you ever see a faction agent wearing this type of armor, you know they have the training to back it up.

General

These are the base line of armors that you can find in almost any merchant shop that sells protective wear. No matter where you are in the galaxy, these can be found in some form or another.

Assault Armor

Originally created for use in interplanetary battles, assault armor is an improved design of battle armor made for shock troopers and those rushing fortified positions during battle. Outfitted with numerous microhydraulics, this armor is meant to let the user shrug off weapons fire while attempting to reach the proximity of close quarters combat.
Cost: 2,000 Creds Weight: 60 lbs AC: 17 Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Required Strength 15

Assault Armor (Laminanium)

With many civilizations having advanced air defense capabilities, this armor was designed to allow shock troops to land much closer to vital combat areas than what is normally allowed. Housing miniature electronic scramblers, this armor was designed to circumvent droid and computer defense installations.
Cost: 8,000 Creds Weight: 60 lbs AC: 17 (Max 2) Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Cumbersome, Obscured, Required Strength 15

Battle Armor

Born from the culmination of various warrior cultures, battle armors have been designed on various planets with the focus of covering that species weak points from being exploited during battle. With multiple layers of dense metal, it would take several focused fire blasts at point range to burn through before any actual damage could occur.
Cost: 750 Creds Weight: 55 lbs AC: 16 Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Required Strength 13

Battle Armor (Duranium)

While heavy armor is effective in most combat situations, the mitigating factor is that speed is sacrificed for protection which can lead to danger from enemies with keen instincts on when and where to hit. Duranium battle armor was created to foil those tactics during battle, with automated sensors able to identify the trajectory of successful attacks and compensate by altering the density inside the suit's lining.
Cost: 6,750 Creds Weight: 55 lbs AC: 16 Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Cumbersome, Reactive I, Required Strength 13

Exoskeleton

Some engineers debate whether heavy exoskeletons should be classified as armor or personal vehicles due to the amount of tech required to make it work. Hydraulic pumps line the inner portions allowing these monstrous devices to be worn by the strongest specimens across the galaxy. Whoever is inside can rest assured that most attacks will glance right off its ablative casing.
Cost: 9,000 Creds Weight: 65 lbs AC: 18 Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Required Strength 17

Exoskeleton (Durasteel)

While exoskeletons are considered the penultimate version of personal defense, there are still those who tinker and try to improve the base design of the model. One such improvement added durasteel casings across the shell, sealing any minuscule opening and allowing for the addition of life support systems for use in extreme environments. This allows for the armor to be used in areas such as underwater, areas with intense pressure, and even in open space for a limited duration.
Cost: 15,000 Creds Weight: 65 lbs AC: 18 Stealth: Disadvantage Properties: Bulky, Impermeable, Rigid, Required Strength 17
