Divine Magic

The power of faith

"He doesn't necessarily hit you with his sword arm. He hits you with his faith."
— D&D designer Andy Collins, on 4th Edition Paladins

The elderon are always trying to help their followers, but they dare not directly interfere with the natural course of things unless absolutely critical, lest they begin fighting over what's best and destroy the world in the process. This is considered by all to be the best compromise: allowing particularly devout mortals a small portion of their divine power. While the exact spells can differ between the elderon granting them, they all share the same specialization in healing and support, making most clerics as skilled healers as most doctors.

Manifestation

Divine Magic manifests when a cleric casts their spells, but how it appears depends on the elderon being followed. Some are direct and subdued, others are brilliant light shows, possibly due to a need to show off or compensate for something.
