Guinean states form an alliance against the western caliphate

Fearing to follow the same fate as Mali and Mauritania, the states of Guinea, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and Ivory Coast formed an alliance to push back against the western Caliphate.   The alliance was a failure as the northern states were easily captured in 1997, leaving only Guinea and the Ivory Coast to face against the western caliphate and the expanding civil wars of Sierra Leona and Liberia. The alliance maintained itself thanks to French, Ghanaian, British and American support, as well as exiled fighters from Morocco, Mauritania and Mali.   The war finally turned around as the FAF intervened in Burkina Faso and Mali, creating a united western front to push against the caliphate. The FAF supported the Guinean, leaving hundreds of meta humans to support the Guinean counter offensive and restoring order in Sierra Leona and Liberia, which increased the Guinean Alliance.   The Guinean Alliance became an unified government out of necessity in 2000, to more efficiently manage the war effort and answer to insurgencies.
