Grupo Castañeda

The Castañeda Group is a conglomerate of business and financial institutions administered by the Castañeda family. The Castañeda family, coming from humble origins as cattle ranchers in northern Mexico, rose to world wide prominence during the reconstruction period after the Second World War; they began investing in prospecting for gold along the Sierra Madre Occidental. The Castañeda's smart investment soon bore fruits, granting them vast riches which they quickly reinvested, multiplying it a thousandfold by entering into the plastic manufacturing and petrochemical industries. The Castañeda's worked closely with the Mexican government to create jobs and invest into the country's industrial capacity. While their portfolio spans the entirety of Mexico's economy, the Castañedas became known for their ownership of the Castañeda Automotive Company (CCA by their Spanish initials) which started as a manufacturing plant for auto parts and grew into a full blown industrial complex controlled by the family.   The current head of the group is Emilio Castañeda, (born 1970 he's the current CEO of the CCA after his father, former Mexican President, Manuel Castañeda (born 1949) retired in 1999 to initiate his political career. His mother, Carmela Castañeda (born 1948) is the CEO of PetroMex; one of the few private companies allowed to extract and market oil derivatives in Mexico.   Other prominent members from the family include his mother Carmela Castañeda (born 1948), the group's former matriarch and CEO of PetroMex, one of the few private companies entitled to ownership of Mexican oil reserves; her eldest daughter, Fabiola Castañeda (1966) has discovered hundreds of artifacts and archeological sites as the head of the Association for the Preservation of Mayan Heritage; the second daughter is one of the world's foremost researchers on bio technology, developing many advances in prosthetic technology under Warhead Industries.   Emilio Castañeda has three kids, Manuel Castañeda (born 1996), Emiliano Castañeda (born 1998) and Amanda Castañeda (born 2000).   The Castañedas are insistent that neither them nor any member of their extended family nor associates, have developed any instance of the Singularity.
