The Bear and the Bee Brewery

The Members of State of the Marinian Isles are invited to truce talks with the Coranimi Empire in this meadery.   When they are all assembled the Coranimii Emissaries turn out to be soldiers who bar the doors and burn the building down. In one blow the entire High Council is wiped out.   The brewery is engulfed by flame sending a signal out to ships waiting in the bay to invade Grand Marin.

Purpose / Function

Brewer of fine ales and finer mead. Famed by the Marish mainlanders from Nottip to Lansand.

Alterations

Built with no expense spared by the owner. Raised platforms stop rats getting in and the kernels getting damp. Strong timber walls make the place resistant to the strong channel winds and the high, barred windows stop thieves.   The brewing floor is pristinely kept by the staff, as the owner likes to show off the colossal red-copper kettles during his parties.

Architecture

Buildings are usually of wood or stone, dependent on local resources. Typical houses of the Eawn Coast are timber framed with wattle and daub. Occasionally more modern and expensive buildings are made of imported brick or stone from the inland quarries.

History

Marcus Orios, self-styled Barron of Paxshire, began his brewery on a small scale selling crude spirits to sailors. He is a shrewd business man and saved to buy equipment to brew ale. His business grew bigger and his product more lavish, the building is now larger than Old Keep, the site of the old rulers of Paxton and the previously most lavish building in town. Orios pays little heed to his roots and happily steps on the classes from which he came.
