Eclipsya (Ecêbzadîçîya)

The land of Eclipsya lies on the eastern limit of the Great Divide, on the mountain isthmus that connects the great land masses of Evergard and Bahkra’a. To the east lies the Unconquered Ocean, what the Eclipsians call the Xwexeribya, the unchartered body of water that goes on forever.

Eclipsya is a mountainous and rugged land, the Eclipsys Mountains run continuously from Evergard to Bahkra’a, the largest and most impressive found in the south-western part of the isthmus, the tallest mountain in Spheria Gardia can be found in this region: Berfberbiçav (Dead Lord’s Nest). The mountains become smaller as they spread towards the Great Divide, however they only become classifiable as hills within a mile of that sea. The only are of flatland is a plateaux which covers the central region of Eclipsya, a thousand miles above sea level, this is the heartland of the Eclipsian people.

The Eclipsian territories have never been invaded in all the times since records began. The mountains act as natural fortifications to the lands, further enhanced by the fortress villages that inhabit the peripheral slopes of Eclipsya. Although armies have gained footholds on the Plains of Eclipsya none have lasted beyond a single battle. Eclipsian armies are masters at skirmish tactics, manipulating the land and utilising their abilities with the recurve bow and more recently the scimuska.

Mineral goods, such as ore and coal, are shipped from the interior mining settlements to be traded at the port towns of Avderugh and Tzamitbrav for all manner of imported wealth. Rare metals can be found in the mountains in abundance, as well as bewitching jewels. The Eclipsian nation has become one of the richest on Gard.

The wealth of the country has led to an influx of learning, the Eclipsian scholars are ranked highest amongst the world for technological advancements, particularly in the subjects of engineering, science and theology. The university town of Mêzrîsipyî attracts students from around the world.

Once every two years, the tribal fathers gather together on the mountain slopes of Mount Dîtinî where they decide on major issues in the realm. They also appoint the offices of state. Politics in Eclipsya is unlike no other, if it is found that a tribal father has lied he will made to execute his wife, if an officer of the state has lied he has to execute his entire family, including himself.
