Captain Duncan Gace
The captain of The Vagabond is a tall human man, thin, in his early middle years. He has a narrow, piercing blue eyes, short stubble, and a receding hairline in the corners of his dark hair. By his dress, you wouldn't think him the captain of this ship - he wears loose tunics, tight trousers, and never a captain's coat or hat - but he has an unquestionable aura of authority in his mannerisms. He strides onto deck and through the halls of the ship with absolute confidence and poise, equally impressive when you consider how rarely he speaks.
More often than not, Captain Gace will reply to being addressed with nods, shakes of his head, or silent facial expressions. When he does speak, on occasion, he is a champion of brevity, never saying in ten words what can be said in one or two - but only after staring ahead vacantly for a moment before responding. The only person who seems to know much about the Captain in any way is Quartermaster Churchill - to all others, the Captain's history, goals, and overall demeanor are a true mystery. However, in your time on the ship you've never seen anything but considerate leadership from him, albeit often coming on slowly, or in a rather detached manner.
