Oscar Corbin Smith is born to squib Artair Smith and Muggle-born witch Harper Burton

Oscar was born in Glasgow in the presence of his mother's relatives, the pregnancy was an unexpected one but his mother decided to keep the child anyway despite her husband's protests. That started with the growing in distance between the two. Oscar was born the only child.   During his childhood, his father was mostly absent from his life, whenever he came home, he'd ignore him and his mother and at times when he cried at night, his father would leave the house.   Unable to cope, his mother asked some help from her younger brother who was also muggle born but after a while, the fights between his parents would get worse, his mother would turn into alcohol and would also abandon her son. Once, when she was drunk, she had told a 4 year old Oscar that she wished he was never born as they were happy before he came which damaged his relationship with her even if she didn't remember saying that to him.   His relationship with his uncle increased though, taking him on walks, playing, talking with him and he made sure he had a normal life despite juggling his work which he joked to Oscar that he is a monster catcher and he saves children from the darkness that is the outside world. He's not wrong, since he is an auror.
