Also known as capital ships or arks, the somur motherships are most impressive, but certainly not the most numerous, ships in the somur Mother Fleet. Even the smallest one is large enough to dwarf Jupiter, and if in the right position, motherships can block out parts of the sun large enough to be visible from a planet’s surface. The combined population of each ark is around 2.3 trillion somur. Although there are only seven total motherships, each behemoth measures at an average of more than 5 million miles long and over 2.9 million miles wide. These monsters are bigger than Emperor Palpatine's second Death Star, alright? The motherships could eat earth-sized planets like candy, ok. These things are fucking huge. Each capital ship has a different identity, whether it be cultural, scientific, political, or something in between. Though the differences between the arks are at minimum trivia knowledge for somur and somurans, any outsider of their race can hardly tell the difference between them except for maybe appearance. God dammit somur, just share some of your culture already to bond with your neighbors, it's not that hard.
