Wellsting

Hidden in the jungles and under the sands of Sorenthis is a strange sort of plant. A plant of duality. A Wellsting. 
Wellstings are short plants that shoot spines out of the ground much like trees, Once they grow to about bush height they grow their needles horizontally like leaves. If you are unfortunate or fortunate enough to suffer the sting of one of the needles or spines of a Wellsting you will feel a near instant change. 
If a Wellsting discovers its favorite food source; fresh blood, it will suck out a small bit and instantly replace it with a surprising amount of venom. This venom acts as a steroid, intended by the plant to overload the hearts of small animals causing their death and decomposition on the roots of the Wellsting. For anything bigger than a dog however this steroid is an instant boon leading to it's use as a sort of combat stim or medical booster. If the stinging implements of this plant are carefully removed they retain their steroid even if they are dried. Most herbalists who harvest such stingers will willfully bleed on the roots of the Wellsting as a form of thank you.
