Yanda
Writing System
The widely used written language of Yanda is known as Gimda and is an abudiga. All of the symbols drawn are consonants and when you wish to add a vowel you have to draw a little mark at the top right corner of each character to make it pronounce a syllable.
The thing is though, Gimda was not always the written language of the Yannem. Before Yannem, they had Hastul, a logographic language much like the Chinese alphabet. This written language, Hastul, was not actually made by the Yannem. It was in fact given to them thousands of years ago by a long dead civilization now known as Tojek. Hastul never actually took off in popularity among the Yannem, it was far too complicated and expansive. The few who spoke it were either scholars, monks or maybe high ranking officials. It wasn't until the then Joji Kal Tosma, using some of Hastul characters as templates, made Gimda for everyone of Balbekan to use.
