Mabinogi (Defunct Kingdom)

Mabinogi was an ancient Human tribal kingdom in the land of Augustford. The various tribes of the Mabinogi were quite diverse, with some tribes led by matriarchal sages, some by hero-chiefs and others by sorcerer-warlords. The Mabinogi generally existed in a genteel state of aggressive cooperation with one another, rarely entering into open warfare and maintaining strong economic exchanges. When threatened by outside forces the Mabinogi would unify into a devastating guerilla force, utilizing their land's extreme terrain to create devastating ambushes, raining arrows from the nearly impassable highlands
The Mabinogi are the ancestors of modern day Augustfordians, and many families take great pride in being able to retrace their ancestral line back to particular tribes or even specific heroes and leaders of history. The ancestral archery practices of the Mabinogi have also been maintained and developed in the intervening centuries and are a strong factor in Augustford's reputation as the most accurate and dangerous archers in the world.
