Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Globe Knot

A knot usually affixed to a spherical object, this symbol is supposed to depict the World Serpent's coils around the planet. Sometimes, but not always, his head is seen at the top with his own tail in his mouth, creating a small loop. This symbol depicts unity, and is frequently used by international non-profits and allyships.

The Sky Wheel

Undoubtedly a Human symbol, the wheel depicts the cycles of life and death, as well as the seasons. This wheel usually has the World Serpent's scaly body as the wheel's outer rim: sometimes, his humanoid form is seen sitting at the top. To no surprise, he is depicted as the Wheel of Fortune in human Tarot.

Holidays

Color Week: Vite 36th-42nd [Artos 14-21, or Oct 26th-Nov 1st]

Also known as a week of love-- and for some, a week of visibility-- Color Week is a week dedicated to the shedding of past flaws and a vow to improve. Traditionally celebrated on the first week of Vite, it was moved to the middle of Vite as to not clash with other equally-important days.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The World Serpent's ultimate goal is to constantly monitor the state of the planet's spacial location in the solar system, preventing space debris and other foreign objects from entering the very small gaps in his coils. He also makes sure that the souls on Solaris stay on Solaris until Spirit's Leap, excluding the souls of deities: for some reason, deity souls can permeate through his body.

The World Serpent is depended on by his divine spouse, the Sea Father: without his tight, atmospheric coils, the world's water would either evaporate or freeze, ultimately destroying Thalapontos in the process. Were this to ever happen, it is said that the World Serpent would unbite his tail and start the apocalypse.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

The World Serpent is best characterized by his long, translucent body, which allows him to stay hidden in the sky due to the smooth texture. In art, however, he is depicted as having both feathered wings and segmented scales-- this may be due to the planet's inhabitants applying real-world animals and mythos onto him.   Similar to many of the Primordial deities, the World Serpent doesn't directly appear to anyone-- this may be due to his role being integral to life on Solaris. He is fairly well-known for projecting himself within the dreamspace, and like Thalapontos, he has his own vision of himself when he does so. Towards humanoids, it is of a leucistic man with a spindly mustache and goatee, long, wavy hair, and donning a galaxy-patterned robe. Towards bestial creatures, and rarely humanoids, it is of a pearlescent-white snake with black, star-studded eyes.
