Bodizhna

The Drake's Ire (a.k.a. Genbu)

"The Drake's Ire. Stories say that a salamander drifted from the Ooshiman Archipelago to the shores of Juniper Isle. Since They had no natural predators on the island, They grew until not even human-made machines could move Them; at least They keep Themselves inconspicuous in the central lake. Genbu is Their Ooshiman name; in Juniper Isle, They go by Xuanwu. "
---An entry from Ke'tlan's journal of Solarian Mythos

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Shovel-Faced Salamander

A direct interpretation of Genbu as a nymph, this symbol represents resilience. Salamanders are known to be flame-resistant, and are able to take hefty blows. They can also regenerate, so long as they stay immersed in water. To emulate these qualities, some businesses and corporations use salamanders in their branding.

The Clay Bowl

A basin with which to hold water, this symbol represents the lake in which Genbu lives. As They are interpreted to be Typhon's foil, They-- or, more specifically, Their surroundings-- appear as The Star in human Tarot. Sometimes, but not always, this card has Genbu's constellation in the night sky.

Tenets of Faith

  1. Acknowledge your own abilities: doubt is seeded in those which are not acknowledged.
  2. Acknowledge your lack of ability: these are good signs, as they show you have more room to grow.
  3. Acknowledge the abilities of others: this will humble you, and give you the means to fill your inabilities.
  4. Take an occasional break: your soul may be able to conquer many feats, but your body is not so resilient.

Holidays

Day of Remembrance: Sol 55 [Kratos 13, or February 13th]

The day the city of Sunovia was destroyed, and the start of The Great War. This day is set to remember the millions of people that have died, including the many sentient races that became extinct in the public eye. It is meant as a day of reflection, but many humans opt to celebrate the day with barbeque and fireworks.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To test humanity, is Genbu's ultimate goal. How They go about it is by surveying the island in which They lie, and making sure that it is being properly maintained by humans. Genbu is, to the Juniperans, a deity with which they pull humility from, as the salamander has-- and will-- cause large tremors within the island if They sense a natural imbalance. They are partially receptive of death, as They sometimes are responsible for it.

Like the Chaste Mantis Talang, Genbu is but an avatar of the Nature Guardian, the first Golem that Vite formed upon creation of the planet. Each avatar of the Nature Guardian embodies a specific concept of life; in the case of Genbu, it is humility, and a deep respect for the land in which one lives. When an avatar of the Nature Guardian dies, They will never return; once all of the Nature Guardian's avatars die, the apocalypse is said to commence.
