Githyanki

A group of Gith who live primarily on the Astral Plane, although they raise their young on other planes (since creatures on the Astral Plane do not age).   For information on their origins, see The History of the Gith.   Githyanki society values self-improvement and martial prowess. Githyanki as a collective whole believe that they must be ready to defend against the mind flayers at any time. Many githyanki believe that the Githzerai are a bunch of naive optimists who will all fall to the mind flayer army one day.   Azat, one of Our Heroes, is a githyanki.   Azat has revealed that the githyanki are secretly ruled by the lich-queen Vlaakith.
