Gith
The gith are a race of people who were once enslaved by the mind-flayers, then overthrew their oppressors under their leader Gith, after whom the people are named (for more information see The History of the Gith).
Basic Information
Anatomy
Gith are humanoids, about as tall as humans, but slimmer and smaller-boned. Their skin is often shades of yellow, green, or brown. Most gith have angular skulls with long, pointed ears. Their hair grows to lengths similar to those of humans, and common colors include black, red, russet, grey, and blue. (Gith, like any sentient species, can use hair dye to change their hair to any color of the rainbow.)

Gith mature and age at rates similar to humans.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
The Githyanki live on the Astral Plane, while the Githzerai live on the plane of Limbo. For cultural reasons, it is much more common for githzerai to live on the Material Plane than it is for githyanki to live on the Material Plane.
Azat (one of Our Heroes) is a gith currently living in Waterdeep, as is Anzanar.
