They were under a geas placed by Dagult Neverember, with these conditions:

• You may not talk to, write to, or contact anyone in Waterdeep, or any resident of Waterdeep, directly or indirectly.
• You may not bring up Dagult in conversation. If asked about Dagult, you may behave normally, but you must not say anything negative about Dagult, either directly or by implication.
• You may not tell anyone about this geas.

Meepo removed it, and Our Heroes are now clandestinely in contact with them.
