Owl Clan Traits

Clan Trait

All members of the Owl clan have the following trait:   Mystic Heritage: You learn two cantrips from any combination of the cleric or druid spell lists. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is Wisdom.

Basic Traits

Acolyte of the Old Ways. Choose a 1st-level spell that has the ritual tag. You learn that spell, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you know (if any). You can't cast this spell except as a ritual, unless you can cast spells by other means. If you encounter anther spell that has the ritual tag, you can add it to your spells known by spending 8 hours in focused concentration and practice. You cannot cast spells learned in this way except as rituals, unless you can cast them through other features.   Giantspeaker. You can speak either Dwarvish, Elvish, or Gnomish in addition to your other languages. You may cast spells from spell scrolls even if they do not appear on your class's spell list, and even if you do not have the Spellcasting feature.   Leutvontenfanden. You gain proficiency in two tools of your choice. Choose two tools with which you are proficient. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses these tools. Your speed is 5 feet slower than normal.   Sanctity. When you finish a long rest, you may cast sanctuary on yourself without using components or expending a spell slot. The spell lasts until you finish a long rest.   Sight of the Sisters. When you finish a long rest, roll a d20 and record the number rolled. You can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or a creature that you can see with this roll. You must choose to do so before the roll. You lose this roll if you have not used it by the time you finish another long rest.   Tillhinderfanden. You gain proficiency with one skill of your choice from the following list: Animal Handling, Arcana, History, Medicine, Nature, or Religion.

Advanced Traits

Armor of Parchment. When you cast a spell using a spell scroll, your AC increases by an amount equal to the spell's level. This increase to your AC lasts until the end of your next turn. Bonuses to AC from this feature can't be added together. If you receive another bonus to your AC from this feature, you decide to keep the one you already have or gain the new one.   Dedicated Sage. Your walking speed decreases by 5 feet. Choose either a skill proficiency or two tool proficiencies you already have. You add your proficiency bonus twice to checks made with that skill or those tools.   Friend of the Giantfolk (Requires Giantspeaker). When you interact with a creature or group of creatures that speak the language you chose for Giantspeaker, you can give yourself advantage on Charisma checks made to influence the disposition of that creature or group. Once you affect a creature or group of creatures with this ability, you can't affect them with it again.   Patient Opportunist. Your walking speed decreases by 5 feet. When an enemy you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack, or an ally within 30 feet of you casts a spell or makes the Attack action, you may use your reaction to teleport adjacent to them. You may teleport an additional 5 feet using this reaction for every 5 feet lower your walking speed is from 30. Once you use this reaction, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.   Practiced in the Old Ways. You may use a bonus action to cast a spell using a spell scroll instead of its normal casting time, and you add your proficiency bonus to the ability check made to use spell scrolls of a higher level than you can normally cast. In addition, you may cast spells with the ritual tag as rituals in only 1 minute.   Vuor's Vision (Requires Sight of the Sisters). You gain a number of additional d20 rolls at the end of a long rest to use with Sight of the Sisters equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down.   Warded Hearth. You may cast private sanctum without using material components or expending a spell slot. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can't cast it again until you finish a long rest.

Exemplary Traits

All-Consuming Focus. Choose any combination of up to two skills or tool proficiencies with which you are already proficient. You add your proficiency bonus an additional time to checks using those skills or tools, up to a maximum of three times. Your walking speed decreases by 5 feet, and your hit point maximum decreases by an amount equal to your level.   Careful Curator. When you cast a spell using a spell scroll, you can prevent the disappearance of the scroll after the spell is cast if you succeed an Arcana check. The DC for this check is equal to 20 plus twice the spell's level.   Fatespinner. As an action, choose a hostile creature you can see within 120 feet of you. Until the end of your next turn, you control how that creature moves and acts. You must make use of all the actions, bonus actions, and reactions available to that creature, and the creature's attacks must include at least one target hostile to the controlled creature. At the end of your next turn, you can extend the duration of this effect to the end of your following turn if you succeed a DC 40 Intelligence (Arcana) or Wisdom (Religion) check. Each time you succeed this check, the DC for the next round increases by 10. Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until 7 days have passed.   Fey Innkeeper. During a long rest, you can cast teleport without using spell components or a spell slot, targeting yourself and any number of creatures and objects of your choice within 30 feet of you. If you do so, you do not gain the benefit of the long rest. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until 7 days have passed.   Splendid Hearth. You may cast magnificent mansion without using material components or expending a spell slot. Once you cast the spell in this way, you cannot cast it again until you finish a long rest.

Legendary Traits

Annihilation Gambit. As an action, you may destroy a number of scrolls equal to up to twice your proficiency bonus. When you do, you may cast every spell on those scrolls. You have advantage on saving throws against the effects of spells cast this way, and you have resistance to damage from spells cast this way. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again for a number of days equal to the number of scrolls destroyed.   Demense. When you cast magnificent mansion, you can choose to make the mansion a permanent extradimensional space. From then on, the casting time of magnificent mansion is reduced to 1 action, and automatically links to the same extradimensional space. In addition, the entire extradimensional space is protected as though by the spell guards and wards.   Fateweaver (Requires Fatespinner). You may use Fatespinner again when you finish a long rest, rather than waiting for 7 days to pass.   Peerless Artisan. Choose a skill and a tool proficiency. Your proficiency bonus is tripled when making checks using that skill and tool.   Planar Inkeeper. During a long rest, you can cast plane shift without using spell components or a spell slot, targeting yourself and any number of creatures and objects of your choice within 100 feet of you. If you cast teleport using the Fey Innkeeper trait, you gain the benefits of the long rest in which you cast the spell, and you can cast it again once you finish that long rest.
