Writing
While never universal, literacy was at an all-time high during the golden age of the Nolum Empire. Today, it is on the decline, but still widespread enough for the printed word to be the primary method of record-keeping, and passing along stories.
The printing press exists, though fewer people know how to fashion and repair such devices these days. Most written works are created with quill and ink, but in the largest cities, tomes, chapbooks, and even broadsheets are commonly printed.
