Wherlendoom
Situated on the southern shore of Falson's Lake. Founded by the Knights Sanguine, an adventuring party of centuries ago, and named after their deceased founder, Wherlen Dragonfire.
In the centre of the city sits the Sanguine Citadel, a moderately-sized fortress of clean lines and sturdy design. Built by unknown dwarven artisans to the specifications of the Knights Sanguine, the Citadel has endured the centuries unchanged. It is Wherlendoom's seat of power, though government buildings sprawl from it, none permitted to overshadow the modest adventurers' keep of years past.
The rulers of Wherlendoom are supported by the Blood-Bound Circle, an exclusive order of mages founded by Iltach Irinev, mage of the Knights Sanguine. While the Circle is reclusive, secretive, and intentionally obfuscates their methods, motives, and even members, they are looked upon almost fondly by the populace. Citizens of Wherlendoom know the Circle has protected the city frequently in the past, and so their secrecy is considered an amusing eccentricity, especially since, despite all this, the Circle's leadership is known or strongly suspected by most aware citizens.
