A Strange Tale

The first full game to take place on Sirel, A Strange Tale ran from September 2003 until April 2005. Two reprises reunited the party at later dates, namely February 2006 and February 2007.  

Setting

The game centered around Dinalom, and Dinalom's war with Raangyrn. In addition to those two countries, the party traveled extensively in the wilderness between and around them. Anzora was visited once or twice. Finally, in the later part of the party's active career, they took to the planes. Sigil, the Astral, Arcadia, Avidarel, Elysium, and others were all visited, as well as the Prime world of Toril.  

Summary of Events

Chapter 1: So It Begins....
Chapter 2: Through the Looking Glass (Narrik, Nameless, Den, Valen)
Chapter 3: Light in the Darkness (Teara, Malleus (then Angelica), Torian, Belenar, then the others) -- what the others did, then into the Plane of Shadow, meeting up with each other, taking down the Malaugrym, and returning to the Prime.
Interlude 1: The dragons
Chapter 4: The Enemy Revealed -- to Farthing, then to Sandorith (Nameless disappears), against the yrch, both in the city and in their fortress. Getting captured.
Chapter 5: Gateways to the Infinite -- out of the dungeon, through the portal, to Faerie, to the west and up the mountains.
Chapter 6: Harbingers of War -- returning to Dinalom with news of the army, the siege of Telsor, Den running to Sandorith for help, the sacking of Telsor, the breaking of the orch army, the defense of Silk’s house.
Chapter 7: Heart of the Enemy -- going south to Raangyrn, the return of Nameless, trouble with du’lora Quori, infiltrating orch society, getting “run out of town”.
Interlude 2: Elysium
Chapter 8: A Wolf Among Lambs -- the rescue of the elven crew, the trek across the desert, the Fre’Tel’Quessir and thri-kreen, the fight in the mountains with undead, the artificer, the port city and Narrik’s return, the Isle of Eft, Port Ambastor and Steel-Eye Dan.
Chapter 9: Back to the Beginning -- the sparking of the Crusade, arriving too late in the Sapphire Sea, appearing in the middle of a war camp, return to Farthing, the kobolds, the mortai, the rift.
Chapter 10: Onwards to the Great Beyond -- the alien ship, the orrery and Monolith, the Beastlands, accusation (of drug smuggling?), Sigil, mazing, the bazaar (and Den’s parasol upgrade), the Astral Plane and Percy, Azuth, Percy’s hoard.
Chapter 11: All Hope Fled -- the party on Avaridel, Mizferac, returning to gain material, the dragon-thing, Alexandra’s earrings and acid, the library, drow and rakshasa, Quessya’s near-death experience, gaining information.
Interlude 3: The founding of the monastery, bringing the creature to term.
Chapter 12: Endgame -- return to Avaridel, descend into the depths of the star, the nightmare, the nightwalker, the death of Nameless, victory, the starsoul, the Ritual, ascension.
Interlude 4: Epilogue. Nameless’ resurrection. Retirement.   Chapter 13: Thrash the Plank -- assault on the yrch shipyards, the beholder, Shran’s faithful, the betrayal, Relnor’s fall, the booty.   Chapter 14: The Dragon! -- 10th aniversary reunion, Kieran asking for help, research, the godslayers, folgubs, the nishruu, Fsaninaeth.
