City of Barish

The City of Barish is a very messy city, with winding streets and hundreds of back alleys and secret, forgotten roads. The buildings of the city are quite unique, shaped in many different shapes and sizes, however all are made of brass parts. The brass on the outside buildings are dulled to not blind the inhabitants of the city. The City is divided into eight districts: Capital, Market, Farm, Smith, Arcane, Tailor, Graveyard, and Entertainment.
The Capital district is located in the center of the city. The market, smith, arcane, tailor, graveyard, and entertainment districts form a ring around the capital district and are a much lower quality area. The farming district is outside the city walls and is where the lower income families reside.
The Cities inhabitants were once kind and simple folk, however with the most recent three Kings things have gone downhill. The City of Barish has become a city of judgement and factions. If you have a belief in something, you enjoy something and it is almost guaranteed that someone in this town will hate you for it. The cities population is mostly atheist, and those who do serve deities are few and hidden away, afraid of what their faith may get them into.

The Districts

The eight districts provide the City of Barish with a system of order in the messy planning of less intelligent and selfish kings.

Capital District

The Capital District contains areas for government and the military. These buildings include:
  • The Brass Palace
  • The Army Barracks
  • The City Watch Office

While the military trains and maintains the defensive military, their jurisdiction lies outside the city. The City Watch are the guards that keep the citizens in check; the police. The City Watch Office is similar in design to the palace however it is much smaller and less decorated on the inside.

Official Courts

While the Courts are in the Capital District they are separate from the cities government and have its own set of laws and guards. It is run by the National Court system which was set up by the gods when they roamed free and its judges are incorruptible. The building itself is made of marble with a red shingled roof made of fired clay.

The Market District

The city prospered and flourished under the rule of one wise and noble king after another, however, as all things must, This came to an end and the city suffered greatly under King Normand and his heirs.
