Tel'a'Sei

Those snow skinned bastards will no longer oppress us! They will pay for what they have done to our friends and family!
— The last account of a dwarven rebel

Structure

The Tel'a'sei are led by the counsel of twelve. The council of twelve are the heads of the most influential houses within the Tel'a'sei. The counsel of twelve create laws, act as judges and juries, and command the army.   The rank of Oizat is held by 24 members of the Tel'a'sei. They carry out assassinations and the most dangerous of missions. They are considered the elite guards of the council. Each member of the Council of Twelve selects two Oizat these are dubbed the first and second dagger of their respective house. These Oizat will follow their Council member wherever he goes.

Public Agenda

The Tel'a'sei aim to enslave all races of Shanalar. They view themselves as superior. The council promises all elves normal lives as commoners. The other races, as well as half-elves, will be taken into slavery working for their masters. The Tel'a'Sei not belonging to any of the twelve major houses will be made into lesser nobles while the twelve houses will know the status of higher nobles.

History

The Tel'a'sei are believed to come from the long gone northern continent. Living in the cold wastes they adapted to their snowy environment. Their skin growing paler with every generation. Before their continent met its end the Tel'a'sei traveled to the eastern continent during the The great Tel'a'sei migration.   At first, they traded freely with the other races and lived in peace. But, as more time passed the Tel'a'sei started expanding their territory. Believing the eastern continent and the rest of Shanalar to be their divine birthright.   The expansion of the Tel'a'sei started gradually. seeking political reasons to expand into the territory of other nations. They would start by attacking small border villages. Enslaving the people and making them work in mines and on farms. In those first years, you could say the slaves had a relatively good life. They were fed, housed, and clothing was provided. The slaves were promised better lives after they have proven themselves as skilled laborers. This, however, proved a lie, only to sweet talk the slaves into working harder.   With the work of the first thousand or so slaves the Tel'a'Sei managed to expand their army and their offensive capabilities by magnitudes. While the slaves worked the fields and the mines the Tel'a'Sei could create siege weapons, armor, and train their soldiers.   The Council ordered workers to create the capital of Artise that they fortified in preparation for their larger campaigns. It was at this point that the neighboring nations started to take notion of the imminent danger of the Tel'a'sei invasion. This would, however, prove too late with their first attack on a neighboring nation the army of the Tel'a'sei proved much too strong and well trained. The war only lasted 2 years before the first nation surrendered into slavery.   The Tel'a'sei conquered more lands in the years following their first campaign. They now control over a quarter of the eastern kingdom.
