Bahadûr Al-Mu'tasim

Bahadûr Al-Mu'tasim (a.k.a. The many named)

As a child I grew up in a single child with my mother and my father in a rather poor community. My father was a shepherd and kept several sheep for their milk and wool which he sold to our neighbors. I did not have a bad youth per se but after several bandit attacks on our village our family was left with nothing but an old clay house. My father set out to try and trade the last of our goods in other cities to raise money and provide for us. Sadly, he never returned, a few days after he left our village he was attacked by the same rovers that plundered our place. My mother became sick shortly after the attack, paired with the passing of my father there was no one left to take care of her except me. For two years I worked day and night to scrounge around money to pay for food and the medicine my mother desperately needed. This all happened around the time I was 12. I worked for two years without rest only to return home one day to some of our villagers that took me to our home. My mother had died while I was gone, she did not want to see me cry and had already said her goodbyes that morning when I left. It still came as a shock though. Without anything left in the village I worked for another year or so before heading of to one of the coastal cities where I joined a pirate crew, in return for the work I would be doing on the ship they would give me a place in the cabins below deck and take me with them to new continents. After being a part of their crew for more than a year, learning how to fight with a scimitar and learn the code of pirates I parted ways with my captain and his crew after we landed on Swordcoast. Here I met a strange little fellow going by the name of Brodo. While he hasn’t told me much about himself I grew quite fond of him. We got to know each other over a couple of ales at the drowning whench. Not more than two or three weeks after meeting Brodo we were approached by a dwarf with an interesting business proposition. And, after my dad’s failed attempt at raising money for our family it would be strange to let such an opportunity to earn some gold slip through my fingers.. Would it not? - From " Bahadur's amazing journey"
