"It is time my child. Do not be afraid. for losing your physical sight will grant you the eternal grace of Abash"
Mentor to a disciple
Bash Tonu
As young disciples complete their first year of training under their master they are required to take part in the offering of the eyes, also known as Bash Tonu. The master will lay his hands on the eyes of the disciple with fingers stretched to the sides of the disciples head. A bright and warm glow will emanate from underneath the hands permanently taking away the vision of the disciple. After the disciple is blinded he is tasked to make a lone pilgrimage to the shrine of Abash. Here the disciple will be blessed by the god and monks will provide the disciple with clothes befitting his new rank and a jute blindfold that the disciple will carry to signify his rank and devotion.
