“Mages. I hate these guys.”

Professor Mortimer Strauss had stolen an dangerous artifact and the Bear Doctor Society wanted it back to be purified. Enlisting the aid of Strauss’s colleagues at PIT&T, the runners broke into his mansion and stole not just the artifact but a bunch of cool swords and stuff. They did have to face down his guards in the form of many horrid homunculi, watcher spirits, gargoyles and a loose gorgon goose.

Dr. Jason Nowatchahanu of the Bear Doctor Society hires the runners to retrieve a dangerous artifact, a mana infused meteor, that had found its way into the hands of a mage’s private museum. The mage, Professor Mortimer Strauss, had several colleagues at the Pacific Institute of Technology and Thaumaturgy, or as the students call it, The PITT. The campus is loaded with protestors over any and every issue in the upcoming presidential election. Talking their way past the Lone Star riot cops, the runners are promised help by Professor Gabriel Alatorre and asks them to return tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Republican presidential candidate, General Franklin Yeats, was assassinated that night. As riots broke out on campus, Lone Star and Knight Errant clashed with protesters as much as with each other, providing the runners ample distraction to enter the PITT. Alatorre had informed Professors Krall and Quinton, and together they give the runners the info they needed to get into Strauss’s home of Wispwood Manor on Vashon Island. In return, they ask the runners to retrieve other artifacts Strauss had stolen as if they were going to get groceries. The mansion was empty but for dozens of homunculi servants such as gargoyles and golems and watcher spirits. Sneaking and slashing their way through, the runners find the artifacts along with the dead wife of Strauss, tucked neatly in her bed along with a voice pleading to be released from a sarcophagus. They decide not to oblige the creepy voice, as they were already disturbed enough by the artifacts: The supposed meteor looked more like a chunk of a castle wall, the cracked open ancient statue of an insect, and an obsidian ingot marked by red runes that looked very familiar. It was the same object they had stolen from Humanis. Here it was labeled Brimsteel. After narrowly avoiding Lone Star responders and a wild gorgon goose, the runners return the items to their employers.
