Epistolaries are in-setting articles and correspondences that tell or hint at the overall story.

Many of the mission reporters in SG2048 are told in the epistolary format. This article details some of the epistolary devices that we use (and mostly for the purpose of maintaining my consistency and sanity):

MSNBC Wise Investor

The MSNBC Wise Investor is a newsfeed focusing on high impact international business news, or medium to high impact regional developments. The Wise Investor is autonomously curated from live feeds, and ghost written by HSMBC's proprietary AI, xiaobing3.1. The most prominent articles are vetted by a human expert (tagged "expert verified").

Disney Twitch News

Disney Twitch News contain short blurbs that summarize (or tease) recorded livestreamed events, frequently related to eSports or digital entertainment. This format also includes a selection of comments and (optionally) a choice spoiler-free quote from the event.

Boeing ATC Dispatch

ATC Dispatch contains short, highly condensed updates to pilots and international travelers.
A dispatch always begins with a header with the following lines:

1. Location, in the Tower, City, Region / Country format (note that Dispatch may use out-of-date but unambiguous location names to avoid confusion)
2. Date and Time, with Time Zone Code
3. Priority Flag. The highest priority dispatches are flagged Immediate Dispatch.
4. Optional: Other procedure words. (Ex: Sécurité, SCRAMBLE)

Apple Life Essentials

Apple Life is a highly curated newsfeed, often handcrafted for highly particular demographics. The articles are hand-written and may often show particular biases.

Straits Times and Stomp

Straits Times is a Singapore based news organization and an organ of Temasek. It covers news in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Singapore, and often has a pro-Temasek slant.

Stomp is a subsidiary of Straits Times, and has a reputation for being a gossip and rumor mill. It uses xiaobing3.1 to support citizen journalism.

Internal Correspondences

Disney-Amazon Incident Report

Incident Reports are automatically generated by the variously highly automated processes within Disney-Amazon. Upon generation, each report is automatically flagged with their mode (the process generating the report), location, local time, and a short description regarding the nature of the incident. In the case where the report is human generated, they may enter description manually, or via voice / video recording (blocked by RECORDING BEGINS and RECORDING TERMINATES). Particularly important messages can be flagged URGENT. Optionally, an action may be automatically recommended and executed by the system, which may appears as a follow-up if extended human attention is needed. An incident number is also automatically generated, prefixed with an 'S' for SEA region. Shipboard Logs

Log entries entered by Disney-Amazon freighter technicians. Includes vessel and ID (hex code with final digit checksum), owner of the log entry (with rank), date, and time (with time zone). Also includes a unix style file permission code (which apparently can be deleted without being really deleted).
