Afayan Cavalry

The Afayan Cavalry is the primary military force for its kingdom.

Armor for the knights and horses

Weaponry

The cavalry mainly uses lances, longswords, and crossbows. However, there are a few members who specialize in offensive and supportive magic as well.

Vehicles

Each member has their own horse.

Tactics

Knights who can use magic use it to contain or disorient the enemies, most of the melee fighters charge at the enemies, and the bow knights support them.

Training

Soldiers must be trained for specialized combat on horseback including the ideal angles at which to hold their weapons in order to minimize harm to both them and the animal

The soldiers and horses have to be well-fed.

Upkeep

The cost can be very high and labor-intensive. Food, armor, tents, medicine, etc.

Recruitment

Recruitment is open to all citizens who are at least 18 years old and have both of their arms--one to hold a weapon (both in the case of bow knights), and the other for holding onto the saddle.

History

The cavalry has been around since the early days of the Alfayan Kingdom, defending it from bandits and other ner do wells seeking to subjugate Alfaya before it could really begin. Currently Kalon Palanin has the cavalry's command and is poised to lead the entire army one day on the beheaedst of his his father's wishes.
