Forefinger of Seer Elum

The Forefinger of Seer Elum is a lost artifact, last seen by the former Vakor king and queen's guards after they apprehended the one who stole it from Seer Elum's pupil, Melaa. It has henceforth mysteriously vanished, presumed stolen from the Yama prison's guard office.   It is a fountain pen Seer Elum used for fifty years to write his predictions, premonition and oracles. Made as one of many, it was a regular off-shelf fountain pen of the 1800's and its appearance remains the same. If a person came into possession of the Forefinger, they would be none the wiser. It is only in its function that it exhibits a unique and singularly dangerous capability.   Namely, the one who writes with this pen, no matter the ink, is able to write out their own future actions. It can predict actions up to thirteen days from the day of writing. And it does so with utmost precision. Never fails, never falters and allows the one who wields it the power to alter. If a person was to write an event of terrible consequence to them, they can use the pen dipped in their own blood to rewrite this event and forever change it. As evident, whoever holds such power can affect the course of history. That is why this artefact is on Academia Revna"> and Academia Paix">'s lists of most wanted artifacts. Academics of the former actively search for this pen examining hundreds of similar fountain pens a year, while Academia Paix sends treasure hunters to search for it by often illicit means.   Named the Forefinger because of how often and how regularly Seer Elum wrote with it, parting only to eat, rest and teach his pupil. Seer Elum died with the pen in his hand, which is believed to have been the moment that imbued the pen with a fraction of Elum's power.   Melaa, who died aged 135, died with great guilt over not keeping her mentor's extraordinary pen from falling into the wrong hands. She felt that way even though she hadn't known at the time of its unique ability. It was stolen merely as a keepsake that belonged to the great Seer Elum. And it was the thief, one by the name of Rainer, who discovered its power, only to get caught because of his scepticism. But after he found himself in prison, Reiner swore about the properties of the pen. One of the guards was, Reiner later confessed, curious enough to try the pen and he found it to work and stole it for himself. Reiner even claims that the guard died later under mysterious circumstances and so the trail of the Forefinger of Seer Elum was lost.
