Isilantir

On the northwestern border of Aenuleria, the city of Isilantir rests in the mountains. Much of the surplus population of Ard’dyanir spread to the western border to guard against the savage humans of Ondar. The sentiment of keeping the elven lands free from foreigners is most prevalent here. A large portion of the population serves as an army, frequently fighting raiders from the west. Resources for such an army are made readily available due to the large deposits of iron found in the mountains surrounding the city. The precious stones that are so prevalent in the capital are fewer in the region, save for ruby. This has worked out in favor of the current Galri, who heavily incorporates its use in decoration.

Government

Galri Lir leads the bastion of Isilantir. Much like the Galri in the east, he has dedicated a great deal of time and energy to mastery of combat. The biggest difference is in application of his knowledge. Lir is extremely offensive as a combatant. His worry over threats from within have led him to rule harshly, but fiercely protective of those he believes to be true elven patriots. His aggressive campaign against foreigners has led to many deaths on the western border. Largely human deaths. This has earned him the nickname amongst the elves as the “Flame of the West”. A name proudly used by Lir, and emblazoned in ruby throughout the city.

Architecture

Architecture in Isilantir consists primarily of shaped black stone, with decoration of precious gemstone worked into it. The Galri has placed a heavy emphasis on shaped stone artwork that showcases elven battle triumphs. Large black doors to the keeps scattered throughout the city host detailed artwork in ruby. The effect is that of a portrait painted in red, against black. Service of some form to the city is compulsory for all who would be citizens. Those unable to fight fill roles that are clerical or logistical in nature. Deserters are branded as traitors and threats to the elven realm, and harshly punished if caught. The kingdom is ruled with an iron fist in every sense, harsh against any lawbreakers or perceived threats to the people. Citizens who stay on the right side of the law are fiercely protected, inspiring a sense of loyalty as well as fear.
