Cult of Shadows [Skuggakultur] (Outlawed)

Working against the will of the Cult of Kjarninn is the Cult of Shadows. Some dwarves consider the near extinction of their race at the hands of the deep races to be a sign that Kjarninn has abandoned them. Devotion should instead, they argue, be given to the ancient Shadows encountered in the deepest regions. Such beings are extremely powerful and surely worthy of worship to protect against the other creatures in the depths. This is the belief of the Cult of Shadows, who work to see devotion moved from Kjarninn. The cult is branded as heresy by the King and followers of Kjarninn, and worshipers are to be thrown from Langrbru if their membership in the cult can be proven. Skuggajarl Myrkskeggr leads the Cult of Shadows, though his location is unknown. Rumors throughout the realm also suggest that the cult has the protection of a powerful Shadow, though none know what it gains from the arrangement.
