Dwarf

Short, but Stout

A short, stout, and brave folk, the Dwarves are perhaps known best for 4 things: their penchant for innovation, their metalwork, their soldiers, and their ale. Dwarves are said to be able to fashion even the hardest metal to work with into weapons and armor, as if it were simple iron. They are also the ones who discovered that magic could be used to power objects, and were the first race to develop magic powered machines. Other races quickly shared in the discovery thanks to the Dwarven decision to export them. To this day, the Dwarven and Human kingdoms share a tight-knit alliance thanks to many great battles fought side by side. While their diplomatic relationship with the Goblins is still somewhat tense, they hold a trade alliance with the tribes in the Underground. Contrary to popular belief, the Dwarves don't mine their own ore for their metalwork, and instead import their materials from the Goblin Clans.

Superb Spirits

Dwarven ale is said to be amongst the best drink in the world: some suspect the minerals in the mountains being absorbed by the growing hops, some suspect an unknown berry from the mountains being used. The infamous Earthshaker ale was invented in the Dwarven Kingdom, and is both one of their biggest sources of tourism and one of their biggest exports. It is named for the punch it packs, and notorious for being capable of inebriating even the hardiest of Orc warriors. There is even a saying about it: 'If you truly want to forget, drink three tankards of Earthshaker.' Two tankards can have a Human black-out drunk, and even the Elves are affected.
