Vizzeral

Basic Information

Vizzeral is a valley in the middle of Xalibar. This valley has been inhabited by the lizardfolk since the beginning of time. There were once many clans of lizardfolk that all lived in this valley, surviving off the desert creatures for food and drinking from the only water source in the valley, the Vizzeral River.    Over time some lizardfolk tribes left the valley to find new more plentiful lands to live in. Now all that are left are two tribes in the valley, the Verthicavyth and the Thordengarurt. Both tribes of lizard folk could live in harmony, both drinking from the river and hunting together, but for some reason they fight. They fight over the river in the middle of the valley, hating the other tribe and attacking them at any chance. Some have tried talking to the tribes, telling them that they could have peace and work together, but their alien minds don't seem to be able to grasp the idea of peace.   The valley is peaceful most of the time, with beautiful hills of sand and the air that blows through the valley keeps things cool despite being in the desert. There are some monsters and dangerous creatures in the desert, but the reason people avoid the valley is because of the lizardfolk, both tribes will hunt any creatures they find in their valley, often either eating them afterwards. Some say that there are ancient treasures in those sands, but they are conveniently protected by the hostile  inhabitants of the valley.

Geography

Vizzeral valley is near the middle of the Xalibar desert and part of it connects to the southern coast. The whole valley is surrounded by high sandstone cliffs. The cliffs have almost completely vertical surfaces and are incredibly high. On top of these cliffs are vast, flat plateaus that are covered with loose rocks and sand. The cliffs act almost as a massive wall around the valley, making it very difficult to make it over the cliffs, forcing travels to go through the small valley passes into Vizzeral.

Verthicavyth

The Verthicavyth tribe of lizard folk are often shades of dark to light brown, blending in with the dirts, sands and cliffs of the northern side of the Vizzeral valley. They build homes inside of large hollowed out sand dunes and make crude weapons out of the hard stone that can be found in the sands in the norther parts of the valley. They specialize more in stealth, laying flat in the sands and wiggling their bodies a few inches down so that a thin layer of sand covers them and they are impossible to see. They will attack any creature that comes into their territory unless a offering of food that is more then the creature itself is offered.

Thordengarurt

The Thordengarurt tribe live in the southern half of the Vizzeral valley. Their scales often come in shades of green and brown mixed together. These scale patterns blend in better with the tropical beach trees they live around. They do not build homes and simply live amongst the tropical trees for cover. What they do build however are boats. They use these boats in multiple ways, to help them guard their coasts from other creatures, to help them get out in deeper waters and hunt larger fish and they also use small ships as protection. Three lizardfolk with a small canoe can shard through a battlefield and avoid thrown spears and even charge enemies. They wield weapons that they make from the bones of large fish, often making very spikey or brittle weapons, which is why they will often carry half a dozen weapons at least, some way wield stronger weapons made of coral in the shallow sea waters, but these are often just simple clubs. They will attempt to chase off any creatures that come into their territory, yelling and perhaps even charging at creatures with their boats held overhead. Any creatures that don't flee will find themselves poked or bludgeoned to death.
