The Lands of Elsvyyn

Basic Information

Elsvyyn is a predominantly high elven meritocracy supported by many wealthy nobles. The lands of Elsvyyn was once home to a large empire of giants, but after the Thousand Year War with the dragons, the giants retreated to the Giant Rock Mountains. This left Elsvyyn mostly empty when the high elves were set down along the Western shores by their god. As time went on, the elves would grow and spread across the land, claiming it as their own and naming it the Lands of Elsvyyn. They built their capitol, Lore along the Western shores where they were first set in Sarion. Lore is one of the largest cities in the world and houses the largest and most extensive library in the world. There are other high elven cities across Elsvyyn, but after the attack of the elemental cults, many high elves had to retreat from their ruined towns and return to Lore.
The meritocracy of Elsvyyn is run by a council of nine high elves that are selected by the people for past deeds of good to Elsvyyn they had done. This council works together to govern the country often with guidance from the noble representatives of each city.
The whole country is protected by an independent military called the Sapphire Soldiers. They are wholly loyal to Elsvyyn and protect it like a national military, but they do not take orders from any officials. They are exclusively made up of only high elves. They often train their ranks in the ways of fighting that blend magic and martial prowess. Often either becoming blade singers or eldritch knights.

Geography

The Lands of Elsvyyn is a country in the North Western side of Sarion. Most of Western Elsvyyn is made up of rocky and dry hills, this landscape was made even worse when the cult of elemental earth attacked and torn party of the land apart creating jagged cliffs, ravines, constant rumbles from unstable ground and sharp rocks that blanket the landscape. This is called the Shaken plains.
Cutting through the country is the Evergreen Forest, it is filled with many dangerous monsters who hide in the hills. The hill range that the Evergreen Forest is set along wraps around farther north west and brakes into many smaller hill ranges by different names. South of the Evergreen Forest is Silver Lake, known for how the surface of the water shimmers like it were silver. North East is The Expanse. It is a plain of flat grass as far as the eye can see with little to no variation in terrain. Along the North East edges of the country are the Serpent Hills. The Eastern border stops at the world splitting river and the southern border stops just past the foothills of the GiantRock Mountains. In the South West is the DryPine Forest, which is a protected forest for it's rare plants and trees.
politically, they are bordered by the United States of Aranore in the North East, the Reese Empire to the East and The Rainum Kingdom to the South.

Settlements

Lore: Is the capitol city of the high elves of Elsvyyn. It is one of the largest cities in the world, it is the capitol of higher education, especially in magic. It is also home to the largest library in the world.
Mora: Home to the most powerful mages in the world, secluded themselves on their island and rarely interact with the world past their shores. (for more information read: The Mora City State)
Odelkiir: Was once a wealthy and large mining town set in the hills, but after the attack of the elemental cults, everyone living there was forced to evacuate. Now it is rubble and ruins.
Arara: Is a almost completely high elven town lead by a high elven matron. They used magic to grow a grove of large trees that they use for protection and live in the middle of a small forest.
Uthera: Is a very small town, mostly human, it was built as a rest stop for long journeys between Aranore and Elsvyyn.
West Watch: This is a border crossing into the dwarvern country of Aranore to the North East.
SilverSeal: Is a very wealthy city, set along the silver lake. The people who live there are wealthy merchants and nobles from all over Sarion who have vacation homes here.
Arfhund: Is a high elf and human mixed, medium sized town, placed near the foot of the serpent hills. It is a small town with many strong traditions and legends.
Mindartis: This was once a nice small town set atop a hill next to a waterfall, after the attack of the elemental cults it is nothing but ruin.
WearyTravel: This is a medium sized town set along the main road towards Zuephlin to the East. It is filled with every type of race and has many halflings who bring parties and jolly times to all the people who pass through.
Iranphana: Is a medium sized town that is set along the world splitting river. some ancient druid stones in the forest have brought the forest to life, many of the trees and plants in the town have some basic intelligence and work with the high elves.
WealthValley: This is a half human and half high elf large town. Built along the border between Elsvyyn and Rainum to the south, it is still under Elsvyyn rule. It is a wealthy trading town set in the Drypine forest.
