Kingdom of Rillifane

Basic Information

The Kingdom of Rillifane is a country of predominantly wood elves. They were left in the jungles of Mauntion at elf arrival after the god of elves Corellon spread them across the planes. When they awoke, they called out to their once leader, Rillifane, who had now become the god of the wood elves and of the trees. Rillifane helped guide them and taught them to grow powerful fey trees, massive magical trees from the feywild. They would plant these trees and live in them.   As time went on and the elves began to spread farther across the world, they needed a unifying ruler, the high priest of Rillifane was selected to act as a sort of king for the people. Rule of the country would be passed down to the first born of each king and queen.   As the wood elves expanded and took it upon themselves to protect the jungles they ran into trouble with the still expanding gnome Reese Empire that was traveling south and had claimed much of the jungle. At the Signing of Nation Lines the Kingdom of Rillifane was allowed the land West of the Great river, except for the land surrounding the gnome city of Gernsi.    Later, after the Orchish Enlightenment, the wood elves were skeptical of the historically evil orcs and took to keeping a close watch on them, expanding south and into the lands of Roshka. It is around this time that some wood elves discovered some ancient and powerful technology in the desert, this gave them firearms.    Now in the more recent history, the capitol city of the wood elves was burnt down by the cult of fire and much of their land was flooded by the cult of water. Although they still lay claim to all of this land, they have no actual presence in the now titled Scorched Wood and IceCore Sea. They have started building a new capitol named Casartha near the southernmost part of the Mauntion Jungle along the WorldSplitting river.   After they were heavily damaged by the cults of elemental evil, they have had to call back a lot of their country's funding on the smaller towns and cities and also called back a lot of the nations guard. This has left many smaller cities and towns all throughout the kingdom to still be paying taxes to the kingdom, but receiving almost nothing in return. Some towns have crumbled, others have asked for the aid of mercenary units to act as a guard in the town. There is even some talk of the southernmost part seceding from the kingdom.   Most of the kingdom is still very religious and follows most of the teachings and commandments from their god Rillifane and Corellon. The priesthood to these gods is very widespread throughout the kingdom and there are many temples and shrines in every town and city, Even in the ones that wish to perhaps break away from the rest of the kingdom, although they are not as dedicated as some of the other places.

Geography

The Kingdom of Rillifane cuts through a large portion of Sarion, giving it many different geographical locations. From the FarCliff mountains in the West to the IceCore Sea and Scorched wood in the Northwest. Wrapping around to the north at the Barrier mountains. Their border with the Reese Empire stretches all along the Great river, save for a small area where the city of Gernsi is. The border follows the river until it opens into a large lake, from there the exact border is still a bit disputed, but most agree that it continues down to the outside of the Vizzeral valley and then wraps around south to the sea. Finally they have borders with Roshka and Rainum in the Southernmost side.

Settlements

Most of the Settlements in the Kingdom of Rillifane are within the Mauntion Jungle. Once connected by protected roads, these have gone mostly ignored as the monarchy focuses on building a new capitol. This leaves many of the cities and villages kinda on their own in the jungles or desert.   Casartha: The new capitol city of the kingdom, it is massive, with many of the buildings built into or around massive fey trees that are sill young and growing in the city. Chaotic streets cross throughout, homes and buildings fitting in around the trees wherever they can. The city also work with the dinosaurs in the jungle in relative harmony as the city is a part of the jungle itself.
Juit: Juit, although is mostly wood elven and a part of the kingdom, has heavy human influence. Being close to the border with Rainum, and having many human merchants and people who wish to live there, the city is a blend between the two races ways of living.
Ontins: This city was once a massive trade hub, but when IceCore Sea was formed, mass amounts of water, flooded the city. Although water levels have gone back down, most of the city is still under water. Now the buildings in the city are simply built on top of the old ones, with water ways that people get around in small canoes.
Atland: This is a small town deep within the Mauntion jungle. It is only a few miles from where the flames of the fire cult finally died down, the town avoiding destruction, but barely. Now the priests of Rillifane in the town are trying to find ways to heal the scorched wood.
Nailo: This is a small town in the Jungle of Mauntion that is attached to one of the larger rivers that make the complex river ways in the jungle. They are mostly a trade hub for merchants that come from the Reese Empire.
Munter: This is one of the larger cities in the kingdom. Along the edge of the jungle, they are a very religious city. Many of those who fled the destruction of the elemental cults fled here.
Aquadeen: This is a large city along the southern coast of the kingdom. They are generally a trade hub for many ships that come along the southern coast.
Wenst: This town is a simple small town along the main road between Law and Casartha. It gets a lot of travelers coming through. But is also home to many researchers as it is the closest town to the ancient ruins that gave the wood elves firearms.
Courtland: This is a small town nestled into the hills a day north of Law. It was originally a gunpowder mining town.
Law: This is the main city and outpost that was watching the orcs after the Orcish Enlightenment. Many wood elves did not trust that the orcs would just become peaceful and thus this city was built. Because the city was built by men and woman who took it upon themselves to protect and watch a part of the world, they are very strong willed and patriotic to their city.
