Dragonborn

Dragonborn in Sarion

Dragonborn were first created back at the beginning of recorded history. During the thousand-year-war between the giants and the dragons, is when humans were first created on the material plane. Over time while the war raged on, some dragons met and fell in love with some humans, creating a union between them while polymorphed as a human. That is how dragonborn were first born. But some dragons also did this, not out of love but to create an army of half dragons humanoids for the war. Towards the end of the thousand-year-war, the dragonborn played a large role in finishing it as they infiltrated the bases of the giants because they were smaller, and they helped take care of the giants minions as the dragons and giants fought. When the thousand-year war ended 50 years before the new era, AEA, it was not because one side won over the other, but because both sides did not even know what they were fighting for anymore, and both sides came to a truce.   When the war ended, some of the dragonborn were angry and resentful of their dragon parents and masters for having them just to raise to fight in a war that was not even theirs. These dragonborn left the true dragons that they followed and left heading south to the mountains on Mauntion. These Dragonborn became the Clan Dragonborn. They left their dragon parents and over the years of mating with each other and other races, the true dragon blood in them became thin in them. But in the absence of the true dragon blood and guidance of their parent species, the primal powers of their race began to come out as they had to fight for survival alone in the wilds of the world. They soon formed clans and stayed in their mountains away from other races and dragons. Like the True dragonborn they still like to have something to follow and serve, the clan dragonborn choose to help their clan and serve it in any way they can.   But some dragonborn stayed with their dragon parents and masters. They trusted them and followed their teachings. This dragonborn were able to keep the True blood strong within them and benefited from the teachings and guidance of their parents. These dragonborn often stay with their true dragon counterparts of the same type as themselves, whether that dragon is their family or just a leader to them. The True dragonborn like to follow their leader and serve them. But if a dragon is particularly malevolent towards their followers, the dragonborn will leave and search for a new dragon to follow. The True dragonborn believe in strong families and they find that dragons often offer them the guidance they need. These dragonborn often pick a side between Tiamat and Bahamut often based on which one their scales corresponds to.   Most dragonborn will never leave their clan of village, preferring to serve their dragon leader or their clan and to be apart of a family. But sometimes a dragonborn will do an act that is dishonorable and will be banished from the clan. Or A dragonborn will have an itch to adventure and see more of the world then just the areas around their homes. These few dragonborn are the ones that you find in the world and they are all almost always adventurers that find pleasure in traveling and fighting for what the believe and possibly having an urge to amass a horde of their own. Also, both clan and true dragonborn get along fine enough. They do not see eye to eye on many things, but on the rare occasion they meet each other, they treat each other like a distant cousin and offer them some aid before they move on.

Mad experiments

Since the beginning of recorded history, people have always be fascinated by dragons and longed for their power. There have been countless attempts to harness the power for a dragon over the years. And sometimes they work. There are dark powerful magics that can allow a creature to gain the powers of a dragon. Whether it be a ritual in dragons blood, or the twisted spell of a mad mage, these secret rituals can turn a creature into a half dragon. This creature replaces their race with the True Dragonborn and adjust their racial traits as stats accordingly. The age of the creature is reset and their dragonborn form is as a full grown 20 year old and they have the remainder of the dragonborns average lifespan before they die. (Note. This replaces the half dragon from the monster manual. Anytime a half dragon is mentioned it is because they are not really a True Dragonborn, but they do share the same statistics.)
