The Retribution Crusade

When the Orc Hero Rizon slew Akatorvak the Red, the great dragon's last act was to melt one of the nearly permafrost Icespire Peaks. This catastrophic event lead to the end of the Tal-Kwena civilization and the reduction of the Valley of Man into the swamps it is today.
Refugees from Tal-Kwena, guided by the Angel Badriel servant of Ulasis, headed south to claim the war ravaged lands of the Oathbound Kings. In the far south of those new lands, the refugees found the Oculus, a tower of wizards and clerics devoted to divining the future under the guidance of Ulasis. Under their guidance, the Ulasian Empire was born.
Now nearly 800 years later, the Ulasian Empire has sought vengeance, believing they are owed the lands of their ancestors and those who caused them to be destroyed. Thus, by order of Ulasian Emperor Nicholas Maledicti II, the Retribution Crusade began.
