Blowout

Due to the erratic nature of The Mad Moon, astronomists have never been able to foresee the its movement accurately. As such, the devotees of Gerthi are forced to keep a close eye on its trajectory, so that they may catch the brief moment when The Mad Moon eclipses the sun.   As soon as such an eclipse becomes evident, the followers of Gerthi hastily begin a wild spree of festivity known commonly as a Blowout. They spontaneously break into a feverish bout of dance, uncaring of whatever task they were in the middle of doing. Barrels and bottles of festive drinks are rolled out, and artists treat the world as their literal canvas as they are overtaken by a condition known as lunacy, channeling the inspiration brought by The Mad Moon. Such events are always accompanied by jubilant performances of music, as musicians are involuntarily pulled into the festivities either by the celebrants or Gerthi herself.   If a particularly large group of worshippers congregate in one single place, the festivities will eventually reach a crescendo, where the participants will fervently compete each other with their arts and performances. In rare cases, a massive collaboration may begin, as dozens of people begin to form a somewhat cohesive but patchwork piece of art, whether by performative dance, a spontaneous orchestral performance or by piecing together a grand mosaic of individual pieces of art.   When the eclipse passes, these wild festivities end as soon as quickly as they began, as the revellers regain their senses. In regions where the worship of Gerthi is less common, these devotees often end up in trouble with the local authorities for these strange bouts of partying.   Because such blowouts are impossible to anticipate, the devotees of Gerthi always need to be prepared for a spontaneous party, if they hope to be noticed by her. Such an eclipse is the best occasion for an aspirant of Gerthi to be noticed and be gifted with divine inspiration.
