Abarama Zenku Torrennsekaidu (/a.ba.ɾa.ma zeŋ.ku toɾ.ɾenː.se.ka.ĭ.du/)

Abarama Zenku Torrennsekaidu, often contracted to simply Abaku, is a constructed auxilliary language used in the The Federation of Independent Realms to facilitate communication across its massive population. Despite a number of governing bodies prescribing a number of standards to keep the language stable, the number of speakers and vast distances between population groups has led the language to developing into more of a language family. During the last centennial Federal Census, it was estimated that there were over 37 billion speakers across the Federation, marking a small increase from 29% to 31% coverage of the total population.

Etymology

Originally just Abarama Zenku, but Torrennsekaidu was later added to the official language title in order to differentiate it from recognized derivatives. Abarama comes from aba (now), the nominalization of the adverb abun, and rama (people), litteraly meaning now-people which refers to the original creators of the language seeking a tool to connect the people that were present at the original language summit, and a term that would continue to represent the people of the Federation. And zenku meaning language.   Torrennsekaidu is a combination of torren (to regulate, control, rule over), -n- (nominalized participial affix), sekai (voice, speech, phrase), and du (nation, state, government, leadership). Thus, it roughly translates to state regulated speech, but is most commonly used in the general sense of standarized language. Torrennsekaidu is also notable as a word that contains all five vowel sounds (rukense, lit: five tones).   The aforementioned abaku, as mentioned, is a contraction of abarama and zenku, but is also a homophone of aba (now) + -ku (derivational suffix related to language). So abaku can also be analyzed as now-language, or dictionary.
