With the growth of epic metropolises and the widespread use and acceptance of magic new conveniences have been built to make peoples lives a little bit easier. Originally crafted as a tool to keep beds warm on the cold night their inventor soon found ways of connecting his previous magical items to draw from a single source of power allowing the rest of the tools to become far cheaper and smaller allowing even common people the ability to afford them. Enlarging the hearthstone to increase it's power and sold as both a tool to heat ones home and power source for other magical convenience adoption of the hearthstone spread far and wide as it improved a great many lives. People would purchase a single hearthstone in place of years of firewood and with the saved gold they would purchase arcane lamps in place of candles. Besides individuals a number of cities purchased hearthstones and arcane lamps to replace the torches and oil lamps they once had. As more began to adopt these modern conveniences their use has spread to other countries and continents where the construction and reproduction of hearthstones have made a great many lives easier.
A single hearthstone on its own will heat a radius of twenty feet comfortably in an average winter. If the hearthstone is used by itself consistently it would last around two years before it's magic is drained. Once other such arcane convenience are added the effective duration a hearthstone will retain it's magic will reduce significantly the more magic that is drawn from it. While another hearthstone can be purchased and attuned to each associate arcane convenience it is also possible to have the hearthstone enchanted once again for a fee. For now there are only a few arcane convenience that can work with the hearthstone but as more begin to experiment with the magic involved more elaborate machines are being crafted with the hearthstone as a power source. As to what else may come of this invention only time can tell but already there are arcane craftsmen working to make wondrous inventions with the aid of the Hea.

The Hearthstone is a magical tool that supports various other magical tools as well as keeping a small house warm. Used frequently in most metropolises as well as infrequently in large cities the hearthstone is able to heat an average building on its own. Besides it's ability to keep the occupants warm a hearthstone acts as a power source for a great number of magic tools including an arcane lamp, a box of ice, and other such modern conveniences.
