Antiera

Background

A small castle town that sits on the border of The Shrouded Reach and The Nested Flats. Antiera’s government is split into a constitutional monarchy and a democratic society. The traditional rulers are the knights of The Flame Order and the democratic government is run by the elected Bailiff Ulrich Sigismund. The Flame Order has been disbanded as of the 10th of September, 1896, by order of King Joseph Tabius. Bailiff Ulrich Sigismund is still the ruler of Antiera and the city now garrisons the Knights of the Nest. Lord Rickon Tabius IV was executed for his crimes on the 10th of September, 1896. Antiera charges a 10% equipment tax upon entry, weapons must be sheathed, and shields are held by the guards.

Population

The population is primarily human however, there is a strange mix of refugees that have begun to reintegrate themselves into society within the confines of Antiera. Antiera has many dwarves, saurials, and halflings. Most of whom are ex-slaves who either escape or bought their freedom from the saurial and goblin slave houses.

Events

The Antiera Ripper – August 20th 1896 PME.

A perceived serial killer has been causing a stir in town. Horribly mutilated corpses have been found in alleyways and gutters. The suspect was a young boy around age 8-10 who had been infected with lycanthropy resulting in his irregular transformation into a werebear. The party of Zanben, Saardak, Mork, and Yera of Antiera found and dispatched the werebear who was dwelling in the rotting cellar of Antiera’s abandoned Northeast watchtower located just above the graveyard. The bounty was settled privately by Guy "Sweet" Valdekain and Baliff Ulrich Sigismund.
