Ysgard

The Heroic Domains of Eternal Battle and Wild Nature

In the vast expanse of the multiverse, there exists a plane where the spirit of the wild roars in the wind, where the thrill of battle echoes in the air, and where the valor of heroes is etched into the very fabric of existence. Welcome, adventurers, to Ysgard.   Ysgard is a plane of three layers, each a realm unto itself, each a testament to the plane's untamed nature and eternal conflict. The first layer, Ysgard itself, is a realm of eternal twilight, where massive earthbergs float in an endless sky, and the aurora borealis paints the heavens with a symphony of colors. Here, the wild nature is as much a part of life as the air one breathes, a constant reminder of the plane's primal spirit.   Muspelheim, the second layer, is a realm of fire and lava, a testament to the plane's relentless fury and indomitable will. Here, the very ground beneath one's feet is a reminder of the plane's inherent danger and the constant battle for survival.   Nidavellir, the third layer, is a realm of deep caverns and underground cities, a testament to the plane's resilience and the indomitable spirit of its inhabitants. Here, in the heart of the earth, life thrives in the face of adversity, a testament to the plane's relentless determination.   In Ysgard, death is but a temporary setback, a pause in the endless cycle of battle and rebirth. Here, the strong thrive, their deeds becoming the stuff of legends, their names etched into the annals of the plane's history.   So, come, adventurers, to Ysgard, the Heroic Domains of Eternal Battle and Wild Nature. Here, in this realm of heroes, your valor will be tested, your strength will be challenged, and your deeds will become the stuff of legends.

Localized Phenomena

In Ysgard, the plane's inherent nature of wildness and eternal conflict manifests in unique localized phenomena that reflect its chaotic spirit and heroic ethos.

The Eternal Twilight

One of the most striking phenomena in Ysgard is the Eternal Twilight. The sky is perpetually bathed in the soft glow of twilight, creating a landscape of long shadows and subtle colors. This twilight is not a time of rest, but a time of activity, as the inhabitants of Ysgard continue their battles and quests under the soft glow of the sky.

The Aurora Borealis

Another unique phenomenon in Ysgard is the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. These celestial lights paint the sky with a symphony of colors, creating a breathtaking spectacle that can be seen throughout the plane. The Aurora Borealis is more than just a visual spectacle, it is a symbol of the plane's wild nature and the vibrant energy that permeates it.

The Resurrection Cycle

Perhaps the most unique phenomenon in Ysgard is the Resurrection Cycle. In this plane, death is not the end, but a temporary setback. Those who die in Ysgard find themselves resurrected the next day, ready to continue their battles and quests. This cycle of death and rebirth is a testament to the plane's eternal conflict and the indomitable spirit of its inhabitants.
Optional Rule: Immortal Wrath
Ysgard is the home of slain heroes who wage eternal battle on fields of glory. Any creature, other than a construct or undead, that is killed by an attack or a spell while on Ysgard is restored to life at dawn the next day. The creature has all its hit points restored, and all conditions and afflictions it suffered before its death are removed.

The Mead of Power

In Ysgard, even the mead is a manifestation of the plane's heroic ethos. The mead of Ysgard is said to grant powers to those who drink it, enhancing their abilities and imbuing them with the spirit of the plane. This mead is a symbol of the plane's valor and the rewards that come to those who prove their worth.   These localized phenomena are a testament to the wild nature and eternal battle of Ysgard, a plane where heroes are forged, and legends are born. As adventurers or Dungeon Masters, understanding these phenomena is key to navigating the plane and interacting with its inhabitants.
