Fang Wood

The Fang Wood claims most of Andarra's landmass, encircled by a great road along which several small villages and hamlets, as well as the city-state of Tirdana, are situated.

Brotherhood of the Fang

The Brotherhood of the Fang, a confederation of bandit groups operating out of Fang Wood, are the absolute masters of the thousand-square-mile expanse of sylvan forest. Roads encircle the Fang Wood and near the city-states that those roads connect, guards patrol heavily in an attempt to keep the Fang at bay, but in the spaces along the road between towns, many a caravan is robbed. The Fang themselves do not seem to be overly brutal or malicious; they seem reluctant to slay or injure except in self-defense...or if a Dragonspeaker or Bloody Finger is unlucky enough to be among the victims. Dragonspeakers and Bloody Fingers are given no quarter, slain without question or cause, before they are stripped of their possessions. From other victims, the Fang will take valuables, coin, and food, allowing the victims to escape with their lives. Strangely enough - or, perhaps, not so strangely, considering the beast-folk among them - items of silver other than coin are left untouched. Recognized nobility are sometimes captured and ransomed if unlucky to be caught by the Fang; they are treated well, although they must go without the comforts of civilization for a while. The elves of Sunshaft Grove are usually avoided - their part of the wood is the only part which the Fang does not claim - and while skirmishes between the elves and the Brotherhood happen sporadically, none have ever resulted in serious bloodshed. Among the Fang is a significant number of natural werewolves; perhaps one in three Fangs is Wolf-blooded . All Fangs, even those who are truly men, seem to bear a reverence of silver and will not harm anyone openly wearing it; as a result, silver jewelry has become popular among those city-states surrounding the Fang Wood.

Sunshaft Grove

This small enclave of elves claims one-tenth of the area of the Fang Wood, located in its southeastern corner. An ancient pact keeps them from open war with the Fang, though the two sides occasionally skirmish when they meet. The Brotherhood offers tribute to the elves of Sunshaft Grove once every ten years; to those few who know enough about both groups, it is speculated that some major defeat in history has given rise to this practice. Perhaps the only thing more frightening in the Fang Wood than a pack of wolf-blooded Fangs is a squad of Sunshaft rangers; even the wolf-folk among the Fang, who have been known to track prey from one end of Fang Wood to the other, speak fearfully of the silent ghosts who move in the wood at the edge of Sunshaft Grove. Sunshaft Grove is ruled over by Prince Edrilan, whose face has never been seen by men.
