vai-Samaoufaimall
vai-Samaoufaimall are a culture living on the island Daohki, sometimes called Hart. The vai-Samoufaimalle first settled the island some hundreds of years before the current time, when the island was to the attention of the continent Dae. While there are smaller communities across the entire island, most vai-Samaoufaimall live on the southern coast. They are a water-centric culture sharing many questions with the explorers of the main continents.

Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
vai-Samaoufaimalle have a strong connection to the ocean. Despite the hardships of living on the southern coast, they stubbornly remain along the shore. The ability to survive the flooding and storms is one of their great triumphs, proof of their strength and perseverance. Most of their people know how to sail and do so confidently and comfortably, even if the ocean consumes the visible landscape. It is common practice to sail to the more northern islands to bring back exotic plants, animals, or other natural resources. The edge of the world is of great interest to the vai-Samaoufaimall. They easily explored to the east and west, and upon discovering land, they instead have sailed primarily North. The Northern journey is easy, but the return trip is straight up-wind. This difficulty is accepted to be part of the journey of exploration.
Ideals
Relationship Ideals
The most important relationship is to the community, and most vai-Samaoufaimalle are well off and reciprocate the success of their community. Communities are fairly small, typically only a hundred people or less. Neighboring communities, however, tend to respond favorably to each other, so large community relations exist interwoven to the smaller communities. Families live communally, and a blood relationship is typically the least important. Children are raised by the community more so than their parents.
